For Cactus, a Denver-based creative agency, RiNo Sign Works fabricated and installed a collection of custom exterior signs designed to carry the same distinctive brand identity across multiple areas of their building in Denver.
Rather than using the same construction at every location, each sign was designed around its placement, visibility, and architectural surroundings. The result is a cohesive signage package that feels intentionally integrated into the building while keeping the Cactus logo instantly recognizable.
Flat-Cut Aluminum Entrance Sign
At the building entrance, we fabricated the Cactus logo from flat-cut aluminum, painted to match the client’s color specifications and flush-mounted above the entry door.
The dimensional aluminum gives the logo a clean, substantial appearance without overwhelming the smaller architectural space. Its dark finish creates strong contrast against the light-colored facade and allows the custom script logo to become a focal point of the entrance.
Dimensional Aluminum Building Sign
For the Little Raven Street elevation, we created a larger non-illuminated version of the Cactus logo using fabricated aluminum lettering mounted to an aluminum backer panel.
The added depth gives the logo greater dimension and visibility from a distance while maintaining the understated aesthetic used throughout the property. The dimensional construction also creates natural shadow lines throughout the day, adding visual depth without requiring illumination.
Halo-Illuminated Building Sign
For the 15th Street elevation, we fabricated a halo-illuminated version of the Cactus logo to provide greater visibility from the surrounding street.
The dimensional aluminum logo was mounted over a discreet wireway backer that houses the electrical components while maintaining a clean overall appearance.
Halo illumination casts light onto the surface behind the letters, creating a subtle glow around the logo after dark while preserving the clean appearance of the dimensional lettering during the day.
One Brand, Three Sign Types
This project demonstrates how a custom signage package can adapt to different architectural conditions without sacrificing brand consistency.
Across the three installations, we incorporated flat-cut aluminum, fabricated dimensional lettering, custom backer panels, and halo illumination to create different levels of depth and visibility while maintaining the same recognizable Cactus identity.
From the understated entrance sign to the larger illuminated street-facing signage, each piece was fabricated specifically for its location and installed as part of a cohesive exterior signage system.
